An excursion into the National Park



Every Saturday and Sunday between May and October, the peculiarities of the National Park and the attractions of our exhibition are presented in short and interesting guided tours (in German).

These tours are also offered in English to groups upon advance reservation.

Every Saturday and Sunday, 11 a.m. - 12 a.m.

On a guided tour through the multimedia exhibition in the National Park Centre visitors are given fascinating insights into the origins and the incredible biodiversity of the Thayatal. A national park ranger tells tales about vanished mountain ranges, "eternal" crystals, the daily routine of a dayfly and the intricate communication between flora and fauna. This tour is also offered once a month especially for children.

Fee: Adults €4,- Children up to 14 years €3,-
With NÖ Card: Adults and Children € 1,-

"A taste of wildlife" in the National Park Thayatal



Every Saturday and Sunday, 2 p.m. - 3 p.m.

On this hike along the theme track "Henner" visitors experience what it means when nature is left to its own devices. From a vantage point participants enjoy a wonderful view of Hardegg, the smallest town in Austria. A national park ranger provides information on the changing history of this border town and flavouring his tales with a lot of humour and his very own personal touch.

Fee: Adults €3,- Children up to 14 years free of charge

Children's tour through the exhibition
With Bart the Badger as natural scientist



Bart the Badger is the new mascot of our children's tour through the exhibition. With the equipment of a natural scientist, you undertake a research project during which tricky puzzles must be solved. Children gather a lot of exciting information about vanished mountains and the lives of the black stork, emerald lizard & co. One the task is fulfilled, all nature detectives are awarded a research diploma. English tours for children upon request. Advanced booking required.
