Thayatal National Park

Valley of diversity.

Valley of surprises.

Together with the neighboring Czech Podyjí National Park, the Thayatal National Park preserves one of the last natural valley landscapes in Central Europe. In a very small area, the Thaya has created habitats and forest types with a surprising diversity. Over 40% of all plant species found in Austria and a large number of endangered animal species, such as the European wildcat, the black stork and the noble crayfish, are at home here.

The Thayatal National Park offers an ideal environment to discover with mindfulness what makes the untouched nature in the Thayatal National Park so extraordinary.
